Somewhere in June x Tomboy X

Social media content created for Sienna Eleanora’s branded content with Tomboy X

Satrang, an organization dedicated to supporting LA’s South Asian LGBTQIA+ community, invited me to their annual pride event to provide photo and video coverage. Additionally, I was tasked to create several recap videos in a shareable format for social media. I recorded performances, engaged with event goers, and found moments throughout the event that I thought they would like to preserve.

Music: There Naina (Tabla Mix) by The Tabla Guy

I spoke with attendees about why spaces dedicated to Queer South Asian folx are vital. The customized captions were done manually in post and styled to fit seamlessly within their brand guidelines: accessible and stylish!

Oftentimes when I’m at event with performers, the organizers ask me to dedicate a cut just to them. FLUX featured ballroom dancing by Calypso Jete-Balmaine, The Trans Chorus of Los Angeles, and Jazelle Barbie Royale.

Music: Sleigh Ride by Christmas Classics Remix

Satrang invited me back to work with them again for their annual gala. It’s a night full of intergenerational connection between elders, younger folx, and their loved ones. They wanted their recap video to reflect a night full of community care, queer joy, and fun.

Music: Dilbar by Tech Panda, Kenzani & Russia & Blizza

Family day at Griffith Park is an intimate community gathering. I was invited to document it at Griffith Park. It’s an event where the org encourages their community members to connect with their family, chosen or by birth, and bring them together with their South Asian LGBTQIA+ family.

Music: Tu Jhoom by Naseebo Lal & Abida Parveen

Satrang wanted a reel that “captures the energy on the dance floor and generates fomo.”

Music: Ritviz by Sage

Satrang asked me to speak with their board members and find out what the organization means to them. All of the audio was recorded on-site with a Zoom iQ7 microphone. Conversations, blaring music, and the rest of the event is happening in the background, but the vocals still come through clear!

“FLUX aims to raise the profile of the trans and non-binary community by leveraging social events, creating safe spaces, and innovative advocacy initiatives.” FLUX invited me to their holiday party to be in community with my peers and cover all the various happenings during their event before their block of performances later in the evening.

Music: Snow Flakes by The Ventures

MUJRA X Habibi

Mujra x Habibi is a drag group of performers with MENA (Middle Eastern, North African) and South Asian backgrounds. At Bombay Beach in DTLA, Twinka Masala, Jay Kurt, Rae Oblivion, and Lal Batti came together to put on one hell of a show!

Music: Mere Naseeb Mein by Baby H.
