I'm Willa (she/her), a professional photographer, videographer, and career assist. I thrive when I'm covering events, making images of folx on their own terms, and creating work for organizations committed to making the world a more equitable and just place. I believe that, at its core, my photography is for the betterment of others and it's the work that I feel called to in this life.

I've had an art practice for a little over 8 years and have been fully independent since I was laid off at the top of the 2023 WGA strikes. Despite being relatively quiet online, I've been fortunate enough to have never stopped working because of a strong network of relationships and word-of-mouth marketing. I love what I do and I am so grateful to be of service to such a wide array of people and communities.

Currently, I'm looking to take my work closer to people that uphold our infrastructure and keep our world moving (e.g., electricity, recycling, water sanitation, etc.). Additionally, I'm facilitating workshops on photography and acting as a consultant for organizations looking to bolster their in-house media production & digital asset management.

A core pillar of my practice is accessibility. If you would like to get in touch with me for any reason, then I would encourage you to send me an email or contact me through my website. Thanks for getting to know a little bit more about me. Wherever and whoever you are, I hope you're well.

Why work with me?

Years of Experience and Expertise

With over eight years of work, thousands of portraits made, and dozens of events covered, I’m confident that I will meet your needs. I can find your best light on location, in the studio, or in the world. I’ve photographed gatherings in venues as large as convention centers and as small as a bedroom. A photo’s look communicates specific feelings, and I’ll make sure your photos will say what you want them to say. From framing to composition, your images will be tailored to you.

Intentional and Affirming Posing Instructions

Have no fear about looking uncomfortable, being told to “look natural,” or not knowing what to do with your hands. I will walk you through the pose in each and every shot until you feel your best. As a trans woman, I know it is vital that my images match with how I want to show up in the world. I draw from that experience to get folx excited about photos of themselves!

Emphasis on You Feeling Your Best

“I’m just not photogenic” is simply untrue. Everyone is worthy of having their portrait made or existing within a photograph. No matter how you show up, I am here for you. And you deserve that from a professional. Everyone deserves photos that they’re happy with. You deserve to be seen, celebrated, remembered the way you are or will have been in those moments.

What you’re looking for isn’t listed?
